So my car hasnt been idling correctly, sounds like a major cammed motor, but is actually about to die.

While sitting a light heading up hill, some 5.3l chevy starts reving his motor, then starts 2 footing it ready for a fast take off. So I'm thinking, hum.. why not.

I take off lightly, but still decent cause I know I will spin. Once going, I punch it and start pulling on him while still spinning Laughing .

Hit 2nd and bark and look back.. where is he? O, back there...(past my bumper)

Hit 3rd and he starts coming onto me. Then we had to stop for traffic. Sad

At a few lights later he gets up to next to me again, motions to roll down the window and ask what I got. Then tells me hes got an intake, exhaust, 4:10's, and shift kit.

I'm thinking Confused He should have had me. But o well, I'll take that win and go about my ways Smile But I doubt he will rev at me again tell he gets more goodies.

Wow, you must be doing a bit better than you thought. Was it a new car you raced? I don't know what they put the 5.3's in. Good win though!

I'm with stupid If I had the budget when the old motor went, I would have tried to put a 5.3 in my car. Anything LS based is going to be an improvement over SBC.

Pfft... I lost you guys getting on the freeway in Tacoma at the last gathering up north here.

Shhh. Just because you guys were fully loaded down... and probably weren't trying to keep up with me...

Dang that is right. We won't be able to run the 305 any more. Got that thing running yet?

Very Happy

Most all of the wiring is done. I'm waiting on the fuel line fittings and clutch line fittings. Then it can get dropped on the ground for the final time and go to paint hopefully by the end of the year. Very Happy

Yes, it was a 5.3l truck. Extra cab.

Maybe I am doing better then I thought. Guess I need to make it idle, then go find a dyno machine around here.
