I've been noticing something a lot lately and I want to see what everyone else thinks. Has anyone noticed that the video quality of television looks like a bad youtube video? Even new shows on Monday and Tuesday all look really compressed. I'm watching the History Channel right now (yes, 8:20 on a wednsday morning) and it looks just fine. Am I alone here? Commercials look fine, news look fine, just most of the regular shows weither new or reruns. _________________ E30

I personally dont like these new "HD" tv's and some of the digital. Looks to pixilated to me.
Maybe after some of the technology advances some more it will look good. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

i don't know what tv's you guy's have been watching but a buddy of mine has an HD tv and his has amazing picture quality.. it's a 720p, i love it when i get to go hook up my xbox over there, pictures alot better then on my regular tv
i have seen a couple "pixelated" looking tvs, but those were on display at walmart and stuff like that.. i just figured it was because they have little kids constantly touching them, and they got cleaned one too many times _________________

I'm really happy with our TV and digital cable. Maybe you don't have the right cables...... _________________ Picture of 'Scort goes here |

| I'm on DirectTV running an S-Video cable to my 1080p 42" Philips. The TV itself is crazy running my PS3 on HDMI. And most TV programming is fine, but sometimes you can tell it looks like they compressed the video to save space on their servers. Maybe I'll see if I can look at someone elses DirectTV service. It would make sense if it were the service. |

Yeah, could be the service. We have Comcast (which has its own issues) but is really nice and clear most of the time. _________________ Picture of 'Scort goes here |

S-video isn't going to run HD properly. You need HDMI or atleast Component Video Cables to take full advantage of the picture. Service has alot to do with it too. Comcast suckors on the non HD channels. |

I'm running component (RGB) video to my HDTV and have little issues with the picture. Like already said, Comcast has its own issues, but I ca't really complain about picture quality. I do notice some audio issues on some of the daytime news/talk shows on HD channels where the volume is extremely low. (Comcast??) _________________ 92 Camaro

| Ya, to see HD you need HDMI cable. I'm talking about just normal 480x320 television. |

the tv we have is in the 40 catagory in inches. Uses HDMI cable, on com-craptic network.
But even the tv's at the store, I dont like the HD quality.
Now when I hook my computer up to the tv we have, muahhh. Very fun watching videos your use to in 17", on a big screen. Or attempting to edit pictures on a large screen. |
