depends on what kinda air ducting you have on the car.
As he said, look in from the under side and see if the latch bracket is bent.
Can you here the latch release when you pull on the hood cable? Or latch wont budge? etc. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| Since you know the hood and nose are totaled, I would honestly think about having someone work the latch from the inside while you try and pry the hood up with a wrapped crowbar. You're probably not going to bend it any worse than it already is. |

ok well i went home and i just pulled the hood releases and grabed it with some visgripes so i could tug on the hood and it poped up a bit but the other latch is also bent to all hell but its to the point i know i can get it up once i get a hood but for now i need the hood on there, if it wasnt for it raining like crazy and living in washington i would probly just pull the hood off and drive like that till i get a new one _________________

Until you get pulled over. Pretty sure driving without a hood is illegal in washington. I think it's covered as a safety device to prevent fluids from covering your window. I don't know where the RCW is for that though. _________________ E30

Just says it has to be maintained in a working condition as it was when the vehicle was made.
| Quote: | RCW 46.37.517
Body and body hardware.
(1) The body, fenders, and bumpers shall be maintained without protrusions which could be hazardous to pedestrians. In addition, the bumpers shall be so attached and maintained so as to not protrude beyond the original bumper line.
(2) The hood, hood latches, hood fastenings, doors, and door latches shall be maintained in a condition sufficient to ensure proper working equal to that at the time of original vehicle manufacture. |

Technically it's illegal to roll a Jeep Wrangler with the doors off.
As with most things, I think it depends on the Officer and his/her mood. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
