It was a joke in reference to the rampant llama picture.
I wish I could race at PIR with you guys, I love P town but its just too far for me. And, I'm in no hurry to ask my dad for a car more worthy to drag race than my 4x4 _________________

Don't have to race. You can just come hang out and watch and congregate with fellow crewbies. _________________ Picture of 'Scort goes here |

How early Friday? I can put in for the day off. Don't know as if I'll race, I still need to get off my butt and tune the ECM on my ride, but I'll enjoy hanging out and get some pics of those that do race
What should I bring (besides alcohol) if I make it down?? _________________ 92 Camaro

Cool. I'll bring the laptop and burner. Might get some data logging on the way down too.
5 sounds good. I'll have time to get a few things together before heading out. |

Racing tends to start at 6. So if you just want to attend racing, that is the time.
Friday will be at or after 6.
Saturday will be all day since people will be around, so whenever. Again, weather dependent.
These things tend to be pretty open. Show up whenever. Leave whenever. Sleep wherever. _________________ Picture of 'Scort goes here |

Well I'll see you guys at the racetrack. Unless Everyone is meeting up early afternoon. I might as well post up some PIR info for those who don't know.
If it's going to be your first time there are a few things you should be sure of before you leave your house.
-You MUST wear full length pants without any holes in them.
- you MUST wear at least a T-shirt. (no cut offs or tank tops)
- Battery must be secure.
- coolant overflow container
- no leaks from anywhere on the car.
- T-tops must be on. (so don't leave them at home)
- must have functioning running and brake lights
- no loose items in the drivers compartment
- if you are running slicks then you must have a drive shaft loop
- SNELL 2000 or newer helmet required with on any convertible
- valid drivers license
- you must be 18 and older or have a signed consent form from a parent or guardian
- if your car is louder than 90dB at WOT then you can't race past 10pm
- must have a muffled exhaust (turbo, glasspacks even catalytic converters count as a muffling device)
-103dB is our max decibel limit.
- if you have relocated the battery to the rear then it must be contained in a Moroso sealed battery box if it's plastic (no those cheap marine boxes won't work) or a steel box and a functioning battery cut off switch accessible and labeled on the rear of the car
- Neutral safety switch and reverse lockout.
-If you have nitrous the bottle must be secured and vented outside of the car.
at 13.99 and quicker you need:
Snell 2000 or newer rated helmet
at 11.49 in the quarter mile or 8.59 in the 1/8 mile and quicker you need:
-5 point roll bar
-roll bar padding
-SFI approved fire jacket
-SFI approved bell housing
-SFI approved clutch/flywheel
-SFI approved driver restraint system (4 or 5 point harnesses and less than two years old)
-driveshaft loop
at 10.99 and quicker you need all of the above plus:
-roll cage (135mph)
-SFI approved harmonic balancer
-SFI approved trans shield
-aftermarket rear axles
here's the link to PIR's drag racing site. There are some more links on the page if you have any more questions or need more clarification on the ET requirements.
http://www.portlandraceway.com/drags.asp
gates open at 6pm. racing starts apprx. 6:30pm and We close at midnight or earlier.
All Racers $25 If it's you first time racing or you haven't been to PIR for over 365 days then bring $10 for registration.
all spectators $8
If you have any questions feel free to PM me. the link provided does not have all the answers to your questions. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
