so when driving home from a freinds house i went to switch from high back to low beams and i am getting nothing, no click when i pull back on the lever. i have a tilt steering column in my 91 bird. Am i going to have to replace the whole column? if anyone has run into this before or has any suggestions to repair this, it would be most appreciated.

Your dimmer switch is probably out of adjustment. The multifunction lever (blinker stem) pushes a rod that operates the switch down on the column. Pain in the butt to get to (under the dash, upper side of the column), but an easy fix. Your ignition switch is also there.

Drop the column (four bolts), and like Al said it's on the top. It will be a little white box with a couple wires and a metal rod. The rod probably just popped out of it's seat.

well you did go Ford. It's okay. There are halfway homes for that. I think they're called "dodges."

Jesus christ, I can't afford to own a Mopar. The old ones are worth more than their weight in gold, if eBay parts prices are any indicator. And the new ones fall apart at the drop of a hat.
