how necessary is this?
from what i understand the tank needs this to vent the vapors, so if i take out the canister and route that hose coming from the tank outside the car and plug the vacuum line going to the throttle body, it wont hurt anything right?
or will my car run like crap?
(im registered in molalla so i don't emissions) _________________ gas brake dip dip |

it will not affect how the car runs at all. the only thing is that now you will have an open vent under your hood. i put a little air filter on it. another option is to seal it, but then your tank can become pressurized. you can also get a vented gas cap. i have found theat a vented cap allows gas to vent out too, so i think i'll be sealing mine up.
if your charcoal canister actually works you might as well leave it. otherwize ditch it's dead weight. |

The tank still needs to be vented, otherwise it will suck air every time you take the cap off. My vent line has a cheapo carb fuel filter clamped inline, with a section of fuel line routed down behind the front bumper.

| I ditched mine and run a carb fuel filter in the vent line. |

| Hook the line up directly to the intake ducting. No smelly gas. No Canister. |

Paul, is there some kind of check valve in the vent line? Somehow running a line from a sealed fuel tank to a potential vacuum seems like a slightly explosive idea. |

hmmm...explosions are pretty cool.
but i think i may want to avoid one when im in the middle of it, so im gonna try just venting it outside the car or something. _________________ gas brake dip dip |
