Ok, I finally put together 26 pages of the whole re-paint process I did on my 89 Camaro. Progress notes on what I did, and over 100 pictures. Enjoy everyone!

The only thing I don't have yet is pictures of it with the whole interior back in it. Had some problems with the glue for the carpet when I upgraded to the Luxury option. The heat in the summer caused the glue to release. Apparently the glue was not designed for use on that type of plastic. I do have the correct stuff now. Just have to find the time to redo it.[/url] |

Looks great. Lots of work isnt it? Didnt seem like you spent alot of time block sanding? Was it just pretty straight or just good enough? You only primer the 1 time?
Get ready for everybody to ask you to paint their cars now. And they'll look at you in disbelief when you tell em either no.. or how much. Why's it cost so much? LOL.. I can just about stand to paint one car every couple of years. Let me wrench on one instead anyday. |

Schultzy89GTA - No not yet. The carpet and the seats are next on the list. It's gonna cost more than it did to paint it.
chevymad - yup lots of work. I blocked it down fairly quick, there was a couple spots that needed a bit more primer. which is why I just sprayed a coat of Epoxy over the whole car again before painting the base. It was pretty straight to begin with. There is only one area on the front drv. fender that if you look at that spot you'll see it. But most never even notice. I enjoy painting. But the one thing I did was spray a bedliner down in a full size pickup truck. Man that was one messy job. |
