|
|
Does anyone recall if JLaudio has a warranty on their subs? My 12W6-D4 just blew its voice coil. I really like the sub and don't want to pay $500 for a new one.
My old MTX 500D blew its rail and must have pumped some 45Vdc (1000W) into my sub. It was found with the cone pushed all the way out. That dang amp has a burly +/-60Vdc rail so I'm sure the sub got a hardy dose of power. It also blew the 75A fuse (900W)!
Or a rebuilding option would work, but I've never heard of a rebuild kit for these or any mobile audio subs. _________________ E30

It looks like it is sort of a limited warrenty, if you have your receipt from purchase, that may help.
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/jlaudio_pages.php?page_id=112
But it also has this clause listed....
| JL Audio wrote: | 4. Speaker product that has been over-powered, causing thermal (burnt voice coil) and/or mechanical failure (ripped surrounds or spiders). Please review our amplifier power recommendations before you buy.
|
You could try to contact them at 954.443.1100
But it also says this....
| Quote: | Where do I go for warranty / service?
Your local authorized JL Audio dealer will handle warranty claims and arrange for service on out-of-warranty products. |
