Ok, my 305 that is in my 91, it sounds like garbage, and its slow. I am acquiring an Edlebrok, but I dont know how many CFM it is. I know it looks like its also got longer runners and all that too. I would like to put this on my 305 while I am building my 383 so I can make sure the carb doesnt have any problems, and so that all the engine swap means is swapping all the parts right from one block to the other. I want it to be REALLY simple, one afternoon kind of job.

I don't have my own shop, and I drive this car to school most days. One Saturday would be perfect.

I also want to already have the exhaust on and ready to go, but it doesn't have any sensors for the TBI, so I have to convert to Carbed first.

I dont think the engine will be ready till about March, so I want to get the most out of the car till then with out spending too much money and slowing the engine build. (My car is frustratingly slow)

So, performance carb and a nice big exhaust, on a 305, will this result in a performance drop from a stock TBI 305? I dont see how it could, but I want to check. Also, the cam I plan to put in the 383 when its done, would that bring my 305 to life? Could I just plan on spending an extra $90 on a summit cam? (I could then sell it to my buddy for about 80% what I paid since he is buying the 85 Z28)

I mean, I know this will drop my MPG, but will the car get slower with a bigger cam, bigger carb, and bigger exhaust?
