Dewey,
Yes, the lifter valley seal, china wall. I always throw the cork stuff out and I laid a nice fat bead of Napa "Even Bead" across the front and back. Drove it last night after a 24 hour cure and today it's leaking. I'm about ready to slap some JB weld over it from the outside and press! _________________ 1990 IROC-Z, 383 HSR, 3.70 9-Bolt

The HSR ridge is incredible smooth. You should scuff it up with some fine sand paper and make sure it's BONE dry before assembly. Even bead/right stuff etc will work fine. Lay your beads down, set your gaskets ontop, then add more silicone ontop of the gasket edges at the corner.
Then set the HSR on top and look down the intake ports to make sure the gasket is aligned.
No leaks. |

I think I may have jumped the gun, I can't find a leak anywhere. Coil/dizzy/plenum are off and the back of the motor is dry. I just might make it yet. I'm putting it back together now then i'll go romp on it a bit and check for leaks. _________________ 1990 IROC-Z, 383 HSR, 3.70 9-Bolt
