Ok so I pulled out and put a new heater core in one of the TA's (you should be proud of me, did it all myself and the manual).

Now only thing is I need to replace one of the lines that goes to it (see picture below, the one w/ the arrow)



where does that line go to, it seems it goes down the firewall back behind the block...how hard to get to the other end to replace it...and can I just buy a new hose at the parts store???

It's a goofy little line.

If you look down by your header/exhaust manifold you'll see a metal hardline about the size of that hose (little smaller).

That's where that one hose goes too. When it comes out of the firewall it goes down to where the metal line is. Only a few inchs. It's kind of a PITA to get out unless you take some other stuff out of the way. You should be able to do it. Take it off and go to the parts store with it. I'm not sure if it's a special molded hose or not.

ok so leak is fixed......thank god.

thanks mike, jake, ian, paul, et al for their advise and answers to all my (stupid) questions. swapped out the heater core all by myself (with the help of a friend who knows less about cars than I). saved 500 bucks shop wanted to charge me to fix, and learned a thing or two.

now onto trying to figure out something else (although hopefully nothing else breaks/wears out anytime soon

nice work. that was one of the first "real" tasks i did on a thirdgen beyond regular maintinence and little BS. you are well on the way. now next week we can swap an engine.
