basically, it comes down to me doing the swap in my apartment complex parking lot with little knowledge of how to really do the install myself... vs. paying somebody to do it (and more than likely doing a better job at it than I) ... pretty much a one shot deal, 3.73's, TA cover and bolts, install kit, oils/additives...

I can do enough, but gears not so much, never so much as even looked into a rearend before

Its not persay hard, but you need to know what you are looking at with the pinion depth and setting backlash. If you were up here, and could get some help, i would say do it. Since it is in the apartment complex, and you don't have someone there who has set up the gear mesh before, i would err on saying have it done by a pro.

sad thing is, most of the car guys i know down here always just paid to have it done too...

last time I jacked the car up, the jack slipped, because apparently the nice soft concrete or whatever it, just doesn't like having much weight on it, so it gave my rear cover a good knock, miniscule leak, but it sure gives me an excuse Wink

after that happened, I took a look around and sure enough, from every time I've used jack stands, there are little 90 degree angles everywhere punched into the ground... so I have to avoid doing that a whole lot now. Laughing Laughing

apartment complex's should provide 4 point lifts in every complex lot Laughing

haha true, true... really missing northern beer right now... I've been really trying to figure out how to do the move, and when... and with how much shizzle has been going on down here, partly with selma's car and probably surpassing you with law troubles by far at the moment, makes it harder to figure crap out Embarassed
