I figure while replacing the front brakes it is probably a good time to replace the brake fluid. I have read that not all brake fluids are created equal. I am looking for recommendations. Application is street, an occasional track day and of course, spirited driving.

Your opinions, experiences and suggestions are all welcome.

Thanks,

-Schultzy

I would get either ATE Superblue, or Motul 600. The are both a bit pricey though. Of those two, Motul has the higher dry and wet boiling points. Castrol SRF is by far the best based on boiling points, but it is EXPENSIVE. Castrol LMA isn't bad, but if you can get Motul or ATE those are about the best, short of ordering SRF.

BTW, just buy enough to fill your system, no use storing it, you don't want it to obsorb moister sitting in your garge.

Can I pick those up at the neighborhood parts store? How much will I need?

Thanks,

Mike,

I am not sure if you can or not, I would try baxtors, and maybe some of the race shops around. You won't need much, one of the smallish tins would probably be enough. You could get 2 if you wanted, unopened it should store for a long time, but one you break the seal, it can obsorb moisture out of the air.
