Jambo!
I made it back. I landed about an hour and half ago, and just got back. I'll get started on the pictures and stuff tonight, and post some information.
Asante Sana, to Mike for doing a bunch of the admin stuff while I was gone! _________________

Did you manage to find a wife for a decent price?
Just kidding.

Alright, here are the pictures!
Here is a shot of what a VERY LARGE number of people live in. This is a shot of the Mathare slums. The pictures don't even do it justice. You just can't describe what it is like to be there, and stand with the people, and smell the place.
This is as close as I came to bringing a girl back with me. This is a girl named Susan who lives in the slums. She was a the sweetest little girl, and brought me flowers that she found, on more than one occasion.
This here is one of the little boys in the orphanage that I spent some time working in. Most of the kids here are HIV positive, so most of them will never really find a home, since most people don't want to adopt HIV babies.
Here is a shot of what the typical look of things is. Most people get around by walking, or on bikes.
I also went and hung out with a diffrent kind of orphan. These are a couple of the guys who live at the Nairobi Elaphant Orphanage. I can say, that getting to play with, and pet baby elaphants was neat, but not the same as seeing the big boys out in the wild. (It is their winter now, so they had blankets on to keep them warm.)
So, that is the not so pretty part of my trip. Now the the AMAZING shots I took while on the Masai Mara in Eastern Kenya. I won't comment on each of them. I saw 4 out of the 5 "Big Five". I didn't see a leopard, but did see Lion, Rhino, Elaphant, and Cape Buffalo.

I'll bet it was an experience you will never forget John. A memory that no one can take away from you as long as you live.
Glad to have you back...........now if I can remember all those Lama jokes we made while you were gone |

Yeah, I can't really put a lot of the trip into words. There are so many great story's from the trip.
As for the handy work, it was rather funny, we were working with people who spoke very little english, and I speak even less swahili. It made for some funny times when we were trying to build things. |
