i was offered a pair of these today for 400 dollars. they are off a gm cratemotor that was intstalled on a boat. roughtly thirty hours on them...


should i buy?

I dont know what your goals are, but since the heads are aluminum I would say its a decent price.

Hell yeah. I've seen some awesome numbers with them. They are essentially aluminum Vortec heads that go in the $800+ range IIRC.

Yet they seem to put out more power than iron vortecs.

Are they actualy fast burns, or are the ZZ4 heads? IIRC the "fastburn" heads are diffrent from the Alum Vortecs that the ZZ4 got. I will have to search for GM part numbers to verify though.

i was told they were zz4 fastburn heads...looked the id number up and it said they were 58cc. 1.94 int 1.5 exh. from what i hear these will also raise my compression ratio...btw i bought them last night.

58cc?! Heck yeah they'll raise your compression ratio! Premium gas only!

You can use a .041 thick gasket and that will bring the compression down. Still use premium since you're quench wont be desireable.

Might have the head installed with bigger valves and turned into 64cc.
