Yes, a f$ck-up it was, but I thought it would be simple so I removed the alarm and the car won't crank. I can turn the key all the way but the starter doesn't even crank. It's probably VATS? Anyone proficient at wiring? Confused

I'll post some pics this evening detailing where the alarm was patched into the steering column and in front of the fuse box.

Evil or Very Mad

Chances are something didn't get hooked up right. the alarm probably had some sort of starter kill function. that is one possible issue. the other is VATS, if they set the alarm up to bypass vats somehow, then that is an issue, IRC even with an aftermarket alarm, vats still functions, since it is controlled in the computer, the computer is looking for the proper signal from the resister in the key.

when you turn the key to the 'On' Position, do you get gauge lights?

look under the dash where you took the alarm out. Look for a fat yellow or orange wire. That is the ignition to starter wire. The alarm should have taped that and split it. You need to hook that back up.

Yeah yeah, rub it in hoser~ Wink

Glad it was the easy fix!

BTW on your fans.... take the black wire on the relay.... tap into it.... (keep it factorty like) but run a wire from it into your passenger compartment... to a switch, then run the other side of the switch to any ground source.

That will control one of the fans. Not sure which wire you need to ground on the other relay. May also be black.
