Here it is, after about two months of work and money.

First bringing it home:



Now, mostly good, I just need to take it to the exhaust shop and get a y-pipe fabbed up. I drove it around the block like this, it's so hella noisy!

I think my shift forks are bent though, I have no 5th or reverse. If anyone has any hints or tips, I'd be very grateful. Runs and sounds even better after it was timed!

Woo Hoo! I love it when they come to life. I can't help you with the tranny but there are a few guys here that have rebuilt them. Hopefully someone can chime in.

Looks like he was pointing at the tach rolling around 3K.

Yep. Tach rolling at 3 grand. Breaking in the new cam.

I'm so happy! My first engine build and it runs sweet! Felt pretty powerful going around the block too. I got to the end of the alley and put it in reverse to come back, no luck there. Had to go all the way around. I'm sure the neighbors were pissed...
