So a while back in a drive through i could hear a rattle or something coming from my exhaust. The following week i took the car in and had the cat replaced because that's what i thought it was. The place i took it to said they didnt have time to do my collector gaskets..(Car was there for 4 hours and took 15 minutes to do my cat) I know that my right side gasket is leaking, so i decided to take it to a different shop and get it inspected. The guy told me i had a broken manifold bolt, both gaskets were shot, muffler shot, and the cat back pipe was thin and gave me an estimate of roughly 700 bucks.

Where's a good place in the Snohomish county area that has decent prices and does good work? I've tried Extreme Auto's in Smokey point and Randys Custom exhaust and both of their prices seem really high or lack service.
I really dont know what a decent price would be for atleast just he bolt, gaskets, and new muffler

I Could also use anything exhaust y pipe back wise if anyone has anything.

Bolt: Couple dimes
Gasket: about six bucks per collector
Muffler: $80
Trusting guys at muffler shops: Priceless

All these can be checked easily yourself. It may be tougher if you still have AC/air pump/ect.

Grab a flashlight and check all manifold bolts on the top. There should be six per side IIRC. Now roll the car up on ramps, and swing under with said flashlight behind each front tire. Check the collectors for bolts, and gaskets. Raise the back of the car and find a seam in the catback so you can see how "thin" it is. Costs you nothing but an hour of your time and you can see if these guys are legit.

Sounds like it's time for headers, aftermarket y-pipe, high flow cat, cat back system Wink

yeah, for $700 you could get a used set of headers and y pipe and have enough left over to buy gaskets, and have enough left over still to start saving for catback (including muffler).

exhaust work is easy to do yourself if you have access to a sawzall. even more eazy if you have access to a welder. Smile

if you go headers be prepared to buy new "cut to fit" plug wires. Surprised
