Just wondering if anyone has had a bad experience with summits radiator. Mine developed a crack in it so i need a new one. There's is one of the cheapest and i don't have a bunch of money but i don't want to get one with plastic on it either. Any comments would be awesome. Thanks _________________ Thirdgenless |

Try Arctic Radiator in Bremerton. He can probably get whatever you are looking for. He's by Fred Meyer. That's where I got the one for my 3.1 (brass and copper). I still have the one that came out if you need one to get by, it still holds water last time I checked. I understand they are the same size for the 305 as for the 3.1. It's for a 5-speed, so no tranny cooler plumbing. _________________ 92 Camaro

I just called the guy from arctic radiator. Seemed like a nice guy. Anyways he said that they don't make that type of radiator for our cars anymore. So i' m stuck with a stock oem replacement till i get a real motor, then i'm having him build me one. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Just out of curiosity, why don't you want a factory replacement? I am not real thrilled with plastic but they don't cost much and has been more than enough to keep my mill cool.

I just don't want to keep buying radiators. I hate cooling problems. O and nice car by the way. _________________ Thirdgenless |

I went to a local custom radiator shop and they built mine with modine core custom made in seattle. Try finding a shop that makes custom radiators. _________________

The guy at Arctic Radiator used to custom work. I don't know if he does anymore since it's more cost effective for him to order them already made. Years ago he built me a 4 core radiator for the 403 I had in an Olds Cutlass, kept it pretty cool. _________________ 92 Camaro

If that doesn't work out you should check out Moose Radiator in tacoma here. Better quality in all cases I've seen than performance rad, and I'd be able to get you an OEM style with lifetime warranty for CHEAP, not too much over cost.
You have cooling problems? You running dual fans? What thermo? Airdam? What temp fan switch? _________________

Thanks Ian i just put in a performance radiator though. The arctic guy Al, he still makes them himself, i think thats who i'll have make me one for when i get a real motor. As for my cooling system, i have the single fan set up would like the duals though, i have a 180 degree thermo, the airdam is perfect, and the fan is always on. The leak is gone. No more problem. Thanks for all your info and offers guys. _________________ Thirdgenless |

I was gonna suggest Performance Radiator in Tacoma. I have bought a few radiators from them and have never had a problem. I got an all aluminum one there for my '83 Z28 about 8 years ago. It was kinda spendy, but worth it IMO. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Is that the one on South Tacoma Way? If so, I wouldn't go back there. The stuff they sell as OEM is super-cheap Mexican junk. Hell, I had to trim the heater box in my dad's truck because the heater core they sold was mis-shaped. |

Thats the place. I've purchased 3 radiators from them over the past 10 years or so and never had a problem with any of them. |

Yes my radiator is working fine, but it doesn't fit right no matter how i situate it. Just need it to get me by till i get the crate. _________________ Thirdgenless |
