But I wasn't prepared to have this sucker fail.
Had all 8 of the back tires recapped and replaced the brakes on the rear drive axle, just happenned to notice that the pinion was real loose. Drained the oil and it was full of metal shavings and some pretty good sized peices of bearing.
Not bad if it's the original ring and pinion as the truck probably has over a million miles on it.  |
