How many thumbs up smileys can I put in one post??
Just got a set on my car today.........WOW. Much better than my goodyear eagle rsa's. Very quick turning response, solid feeling tires. Road noise is about 5% of the goodboots, and got them for $420 out the door mounted and balanced at America's tire. Put them on a set of 4 Z28 rear wheels.
Did I mention the 60,000 treadwear warranty, lifetime spin balancing and repairs??? Les Schwab told me no one has a treadwear warranty on a 50 series tire. It's a performance tire, so no warranty. Guess they are wrong |

| I have heard a lot of good things about those tires. Maybe when my hankook's are done for, I'll give them a try. I am really happy with the Hankook Sport K104's on my car. |

man those ar dirt cheap for proformance tires. when my nitto nt450's are done i may give those a spin. 60K is not too shabby either.
one thing i have noticed different with the WIDE proformance tires i have now as compared to the thinner cooper cobras i had before... when they get loose there is no loud noise and no sudden fling to the side, the nittos gradualy just let you go sideways a little, you look in your mirror "did i just get loose"? and there is a faint cloude of smoke. they also break loose alot less. the other day i launched at 3000 off a light and only spun a little tiny tiny bit. the cobras would have left rubber through the full rpm range. but the nittos hooked right up. |

Be careful with high mileage performance tires. They usually have multiple layers of rubber with different characteristics. You start on the soft layer that feels really good but after some miles you break into the 'high mileage' layer with a hard compound and lousy grip. You will ride on those layers for seemingly endless years just wishing the tire would wear out so you can justify getting a different pair. I have had that experience three times in the past. Now I intentionally puchase tires with lower mileage ratings to get more consistent performance throughout the life of the tire.
I think my worst experience was a set of Firestones that came with my Firebird. They were already partially worn when I picked up the car and after 3+ years I couldn't take it any more and finally replaced the tires. I don't know how many more miles those tires had left on them but my patience had worn out.
I had Yokohamas on my superhcarged Vette that got aweful slick after breaking into the mileage layer. I went from being able to hook up at the top of 1st gear to being able to spin out at any speed below 55 mph. Although, I didn't have to struggle with it for long because I scuffed off so much rubber on a daily basis that the tires were gone at 4K miles. Front tires were still nearly perfect.

The only tires I like to run are BFgoodrich kdw's or the kdws's They are awesome. Unfortunitly I have mixed tires right now between fronts and backs. o well... O and dylan i think you have to much tread on those tires, we should do something about that. _________________ Thirdgenless |

I always thought those nittos were way too quiet. _________________
