But it sucked because...

On my way to work yesterday, I was in a hurry and not quite following the exact speed posted (but I was within 15mph of it). I only made it about 1 mile from home and was called to a halt by a siren and lights behind me. It was a beautiful Portland Police 2001 or 2 Camaro, with all the lights hidden except the light bar on top, making it look pretty slick.

The officer at first sounded downright angry with me, told me I was going too fast, asked why my front plate wasn't on, and asked when I got my last ticket. That last question worried me, but I have never gotten one so that's what I told him. I didn't tell him I took the plate off because it looks like crap with it on. He calmed down after I gave him my id and insurance info. He looked at it for a few seconds then handed it back and told me to slow down, don't worry about being a little late for work because it's better than getting a ticket. With that, he walked back to the cruiser and took off. I finally took a deep breath and then followed him for a while up MLK blvd. until he turned off.

I got very lucky I think.
