SO.......
More tech problems, and I thought I was good. I recently repaired a dell inspiron 8100 notebook. pent III, decent computer. It has an internal modem/ethernet card as it has those ports built into the side of the notebook. (like usual)
However, my device manager cannot locate, define, or otherwise even know that they exist. I am currently using an ethernet pc card until I can get it fixed. But it is sad that I can't just use whats built in.
Dell support doesn't seem to have the drivers, and I don't even know what type it is. Any help at all guys?
The notebook is a dell inspiron 8100. Made in 01-02 I believe. _________________

| Assuming it's a propriatary Dell mobo, you might be out of luck. Do you have any disks or anything from them that might have motherboard drivers and related stuff on it? |

It just so happens that the model of laptop you have has a miniPCI card for the ethernet and modem. But, yours lacks this card. So, to make the onboard modem and ethernet work, you have to find, buy, or "acquire" a new miniPCI card. The spot for it should be under a cover on the bottom of the lappy, not too hard. The wires should be there already. If you really want to make the onboard work, I think I can probably give you one for shipping cost. Let me know. |
