Well since the car is now painted I decided it was time to ramp things up a bit. As I said earlier I am trying to increase the engine some. Tonight I pulled the old Nitrous grind cam out and getting the engine all prepped for installing the new powermax cam. New cam specs out at 300 intake and 308 exaust. 112 LSA .480 .495 lift. Duration @.050 is 238 and 246. 3200-7k operating range.
Over the old cam I will have 8 more degrees on the intake side and 2 more degrees on the exaust side as well as tightining up the LSA by 1. Should make a little more power then what it was doing right now. I also am installing the Ported and polished Super Victor, and adding the HP main body to the 750 double pumper carb. After I break in the cam I will also be swapping to 1.6 ratio rockers. _________________

I run Trick Flow Kenny Duttwieler heads 195cc 64cc CNC'd combustion chambers and a full port and polish on the intake and exhaust runners. This is on my 383 stroker. Thanks guys for the support hopefully I can get the car put back together so I can get it to my work and put it on the dyno so I can get it all tuned in. That way I can put down some good numbers if I can make it to the dyno meet next month. _________________

Well got the cam in now and everything. It's close but I am going to let that 2 piece cover set up for a lil bit before firing. Anyone else out there have a 2 piece quick change cam cover? They are a PAIN IN THE @SS. Changing cams is nice but it is a pain to get them to seal and the last one took 2 diffrent times of sealing it before it would seal up. It getting there though! _________________

I don't have one but I considered it. Sounds like you trade one PIA for another. How do you do your tuning? Mostly at the track?

Which brand cover?
I head some of them you want to drill some holes and use some sheet metal screws to pull the outer cover in tighter.
I'm running a stock style. |

Well I have been doing most of my tuning via seat of the pants feel and at the track by ET's but now that I am a Dyno Operater at my work I will be utilizing the dyno a bunch (Has Wide band and the whole works) this year I will be a lot faster! I am stoked!
My Company wants me to Arrange Dyno Days often for everyone around in the upcoming months..... It will be great fun! _________________

Sweet!!
Maybe we can work out a January and a August/September Dyno up North for those who can't or couldn't make the drive in January!!
People can tune and test before the Drag season starts, and then test/tune at the end of it and still have enough time for another run or two!! _________________

Thats exactly what we have been talking about! They were down for as much dyno time as people want and at reasonable rates! The Mustang Dyno that I run can simulate 1/4 mile runs on it too with a tree and everything so that might be fun for some of the crew as well! I am lookin to set up lots of dyno days through out the year! during race season as well as before and after. _________________

Well got the car running tonight. Sounds great! So great that the neighbor had to come over and yell at me to shut that thing off! lol It wasn't even late yet! So tomarrow I will fire it up again and finish the last five minutes for the new camshaft and then change oil and pull the carb back off to change the main body at work. Then the rocker swap and it should be good to road test...... The thing sounds bad AZZ! _________________

Well took the car out for a drive and put a couple of miles on her. She's definitely much much stronger. Just a little squeeze on the throttle and it is much more responsive. Before it had a sweet spot at about 2000 rpms now the sweet spot is about 2600 which is where it will cruise going down the road so that great! Just need to get the HP main body on it now and those other ratio rockers for even more. After I get those things I will be taking it to work to tune it in on my lunch hour and when I get some free time. I will try to post some graphs once I get er dialed. _________________
