Just won an auction for a lightweight custom chrome moly driveshaft for the bird. I was the only bidder.. got it for $1!!! Very Happy Of course the guy jacked the shipping.. so its actually costing me $45. This is even after he quoted me $30. Still cheaper then I expected. So now we'll see if my elusive vibration is the driveline or not.

Also recieved another center tail section yesterday from ebay.. its darn near perfect. But the right taillight I got today though not cracked has quite a few scuffs. I kind of think it was the guy's packing that did it.

I've got that interior piece for you from Rodney.

I've also go some plastic polish if you need it for the taillights. Did wonders to mine. Have a coarse cleaner and a polish.

I might have lost this one now too. The seller quoted me $30 shipping.. when I won the auction that jumped to $43.95.. ok.. I won the auction for a $1.. no big deal. But.. I sent the guy a note with my payment. Said I understand why he's jumpin the price, but that it pissed me off he didnt stay with his original quote. Then he goes and returns my money and cancels the auction, and he wants me to agree to a mutual cancellation so he gets his fee's back. This way he doesnt sell his chromemoly driveline for $1. I told ebay just what happened now, and that I still wanted the driveshaft.. If I do ever get it, it'll probably be bent in U.

I think i've got things straightened out now. Part of the problem I think is talking through the internet.

I've thought about trying another stock shaft. Problem is you can only be sure of them for the original set of U-joints. After you change the joints it may or may not be off center. Just like the one I'm using. That's why I jumped on this replacement shaft. Custom shafts will be machined properly for the u-joints, not done with the cheap plastic inserts like gm. Then this is chromemoly too which is slightly lighter/stronger then the stock steel as well. So I was glad to win the auction.

If you don't win it you'll have to remove it from the mod list. Get down and Boogie!

Then i'd just have to add my gaskets, bolts, and mobil 1 oil.. wouldnt I Rod????? Razz

If you think the car has a mod list.. you don't want to see the truck. There is nothing.. nothing at all that hasnt been changed on that thing. The cab, frame and speedo are the only things that came on it in 1970. Even those things have been modded since.
