The midas around here is pretty good. Weve known the people that work there for years. Some other midas's i have heard a lot of horor stories about though. I cant afford for them to install it so im going to buy it from them and have a guy down the street from me put it on. He has a '70 Camaro with a 355 that runs mid 10's all day NA and has welding tools and stuff of that sort. He does his own exhaust work on all his cars.

if i got some headman headers (thinking about removing the air/smog equip.?) would i really need to get a new y-pipe? I thought the WS6 cars had bigger y-pipes so it wasn't nesisary w/ some headers?

Most header's don't bolt up to the stock y-pipe, some companies make sets that are designed too. But I don't think the Hedman's do (at least the set I have don't) Plus the Hedman Y-pipe that goes with the header's look like it flows better than the stocker.

jess is right, i don't think any of hte headers you can buy for our cars will bolt to the stock Y-pipe.

also, as for the mufflers, remeber that midas guy is getting paid to sell you something. we are not. if you are looking for the best flowing muffler i beleive the test show the borla, and the magnaflow to be towards the top. typicaly flowmasters don't have the highest flow numbers, but the sounds is ohh so yummy Wink also, when thinking about flow, the muffer is so far back on our cars, well it does effect things, there is alot of piping before that that is more important to get right. a good quality set of headers, a good mandrel bent y-pipe, and a 3" mandrel I-pipe is where you are going to see your gains.

i am VERY happy with my exaust system

Headers: Hooker 2055's (Jet Hot Coated) Smog Legal
Y-Pipe: Hooker (cames with the headers, 3"
Cat: Catco 3" Hi-Flow
Cat-Back: Flowmaster 3" I-pipe, dual 3" tailpipes. (Thanks Qwktrip Wink)
