Yeah. Needless to say I'm pissed. These guys have a little sign in their lobby saying something to the effect of "the best measure of a business ability is the referel of a customer" and saying 100% for the last month (sept 06) I'm thinking if they want to keep that at 100% they shouldn't be asking me.
The guy says, "well I was expecting it to take this long, it's so hard to find parts for these cars. We couldn't find a front bumper so we sent it to a company to be repaired"
Uh...what? There was an 8in long jagged tear, the metal frame was torn to crap on both ends and the front lip, both foglight openings were torn up. I wish they didn't jerk me around and would've told me this shizzle last week I could've been looking for parts and obviously having better luck finding them
Regardless, I need to find a front bumper cover and FAST. I'm not letting them paint (which they want to attempt on monday) a "repaired" bumper cover" If you guys know of any, or any JYs I can call. Let me know ASAP. Even If I don't have the cover in hand I can tell them I have it on the way.
And to top it off, I think they're going to try and replace my cracked clear sidemarker with a stocker. There was a stocker sitting in my driver seat next to the broken clear one when I was there.
I'm slightly aggrivated. _________________

was looking for an LS7 clutch with an LS2 flywheel and all the goodies like TO bearings etc... these guys had the best prices hands down... great for stock replacement things... or at least, stock from one thing to replace/upgrade in my thing
also, when giving somebody a ride, they broke off my swing out cupholder on my center console, and unfortunately to replace the cup holder, you have to replace the entire lower half of the center console... so I opted to buy a spiffing brand new one for $130 rather than buy a used one for like $90
you can get your hands on all sorts of nifty crap there _________________

so is there a diffrence in bumpers between the 91 - 92 firebird forumlas and the trans ams? i think the forumulas had the blackout plate for the foglights. classic industries sells a "1991 - 1992 firebird front bumper cover" brand new and its a little over 600 bucks. just another option |

The gfx birds do have different bumpers that have protrusions hanging on either side where the fender gfx flow into. The problem is almost all base models have the gfx and calling JYs it's hard to convince them that the TA and base model ones are the same. They just keep saying they don't have TA bumpers, only base model ones and won't check to see if they have the gfx. _________________

Thanks for the lookout wolffy!
It looks like they've found all the regular parts. The hard to find ones are now giving them trouble. Foglights and Marker lights. For some reason the turn signal light that I don't have is the one that GM discontinued. Yeah. Great. And new foglights are $87 a piece. I'm sure mainly because they're 91-92 only piece.
Yehaw.

at least she's coming along Ian.....
that's better than nothing.....
at least they weren't total bitches to you like they were to Brandon...(being a Vert, that might be part of the reason...)

I can't believe they're totalling B's car. That's nuts.
Free...not really. To get them to match the driver side with the front and blend it all together I'm having to pay out of pocket. Which seriously f***s up my financial standing right now. The previous "estimate" was $600 for painting the driver side to match and now it's going up because he didn't "see" the gouges in the rear quarter. Great. |

Do you have comprehensive on the birdie Ian? If so, what's the deductable?
why is the paint job out of pocket? wouldn't they spray the whole car to make it all blend properly?
good luck either way.....at least you'll get your car back at least 90% repaired properly. _________________

even with the car looking like it has been half parted those wheels and brakes look awsome. she will be back again.
why is the nose two different colors? or is that just the lighting in the photo?
why are you having to pay out of pocket for painting? that sounds like BS to me. |

They should blend it to match period. That's part of fixing it to how it was. |
