11.794 @ 121.16 MPH, 1.62 60 foot - 3,850 race weight
Had to 'cheat' to get there but finally hit my goal. The run was awesome but afterwards there was an 'incident' hehe. Not sure exactly what happened but best guess at this time is that the plunger in the N2O solenoid let go and nitrous was still flowing. There was carnage but the engine is fine. Paully will post up pics of the nastiness. We were laughing pretty hard .
Many thanks to all the crewbies and specifically Brandon, Paul, John and Bart.
I AM STOKED

hehe you guessed it Tony. Wait until you see the pics. Oh the cheating comment is because a lot of people (including a few of the crew) consider nitrous 'cheating'. I say run what you brung
Thanks guys. I should get to bed, I will be round tripping Bend tomorrow starting at 5 AM I have to get up in 3 hours lol.

Was such an awesome run!
After heading down the return road... yes I was the 13.6, lots of black smoke (cleaned some serious carbon out) I see a shower of sparks and hear the POP under the car. About 25ft later the sled just kind of pukes out the maf sensor! LOL Was HILARIOUS!

Congrats Mike! We always knew that sled had 11's in her. Man, now I am sad that I didn't go last night.
Well, I guess I have a new goal to work for. At least I know what I have to build that 327 to do. |

Well, more like spinning a 13 second.
Did any of the MAF sensor make it past the throttle blades, or did it all blow out? |

izcain:
Running a combo that should be in the 160-170 hp range. I was running jetting for a 150 shot but it was > 10:1 AFR with my better fuel pump. I rejetted to what an online calculator said was about a 160 rwhp shot but it was still at 10:1 AFR. I put smaller fuel jets in to lean it out a bit more now. Dyno will tell what the power really is.
As far as I know, I am starting the nitrous at or a little below 3k RPM and all in by like 4K RPM. So that should be giving me around 120hp when it hits ramping to 160hp at 4K. Was shifting at about 6k, 4 degrees retard on the juice.
Jake:
I have had the MPH (hp) for better times for a while but have been traction limited. The biggest single difference has been running the drag radials (thanks Paul!). Earlier this year I picked up a spare 9 bolt with 3.70 gears. I was thinking that I would try to run DR's or slicks and if I blew up my rear end I would have the original 9 bolt ready to put back in. It would either be cheap insurance or a waste of money. So far so good.
I also appear to have picked up 2.5 - 3 MPH after I put new valve springs in and took care of my bind situation. If I calculated it right that is probably 20-30 hp there.
I would also be the first to admit that I am not that great of a drag racer. I have not run that many times and still trying to figure out the best way to launch, etc. I have only been out twice now with the DR's (7 or 8 passes total) and before that it didnt' matter what I tried I just spun the tires. It does appear that there is improvement as my reaction times and 60 fts continue to improve.
Overall, considering the cars weight and the fact that it is not set up for drag racing at all, I am pretty pleased with where I am at.
Asdfga3:
Throttle body blades were closed - this was all blowing the opposite direction (thank goodness!).
Off to buy some material to laminate my timeslip
