Well today has been an interesting day. I call in ins. co. this morning to kinda say 'wtf? what's going on?'

Well after a few minutes talking to the call center jockey I find that they value my car at ~5100 (which is about 2k more than I payed for it, which was cool) but the cost of fixing it they decided was too close to the value of the car. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 4800 I think. I was now going to have to get ahold of all my receipts for any modification I have done, maintenence or otherwise to show that my car is more valuable than that. Or con them into thinking so. A few hours later I had found a receipt for the trans, the rear axle, all the brake stuff, my manifold, cam, guages, seats, shifter, steeringwheel, centerconsole, 5pt harnesses, control arms, panhard, springs, shocks, etc. Pretty much everything and I was ready to overload their fax machine with crap when I get another call from another agent that evidentally admitted the difficulting in valuing a car like that. And with the rarity of it, they decided to fix it. Just like that. Crazy. On this guys whim I'm getting my car back with a monochromatic paint scheme and no salvage title.

I'm happy.

I still hate bambi.

AWSOME!!!!! any plans to throw a little extra into the paint for some two tone madness? or perhaps a color change? now might also be the time to decide if you do indeed want to switch to 85-90 stile GFX and bumpers.

hey now we will be able to take pictures of the driver side too huh Wink

dude i am so thrilled for you, that is great. they always just total thirdgens. yay for verts i guess eh? USA

I've never seen a twotone scheme that I like. And I still can't decide If I really want to swap to the 85-90 gfx so it's pretty much going back to stock. I asked about a color change to gunmetal/charcoal but I don't have the cash for it right now. Mad

No more winkey. Laughing

Awsome! I didn't have to fax a single recipe when my car got hit. Just telling them I would be faxing over recipes for parts they would need to cover if they total it, was enough.

You need to get the GFX's fixed before they paint it!

State Farm ins. Funny thing is, I only switched to full coverage instead of liability in July. Laughing

Gfx? The driver side thing? Oh yeah! It's getting done! Very Happy

sweet deal ian!

Bambi still sucks, but at least she gave you a fresh paint job and some trim out of the deal (and possibly a higher insurance rate)...

Good deal Ian. Now we can finally see the other side of your car Wink.

That thing will be nice once you get body/paint work done.

Was that covered under comprehensive? Mom's deer was and cost $50 out of pocket to fix the front of her Toyota (the one she later totaled).

Anyway, glad to hear it's getting fixed.
