okay i have done a lot of engines in my day but not in camaros third gen that is and i went to change my 2.8 engine out no sweat right? well mine is a five speed stick so i thought i would pull it and leave the tranny in the car so i undi the bell housing bolts and geuss what ? not enough clearance to slide motor out many cuss words later i figured i would have to pull the tranny too is this normal? ive done several automatics and left them in the car i dont have a lift available right now so im doing this on jackstands any encouraging words or sugestions would be welcome right now

Every motor I've taken out of thirdgens we've left the manual transmission in.

And these are all V8s... which are longer... which have less room. But still come out.

Yes we did, but we also had lifts and transmission jacks, etc, etc available. Also replaced the clutch which is easier with the tranny out.
