Hooray! I finally got the LSD installed! WOOT WOOT! Talk about a major upgrade! I took an old carrier that I've had for 2 years, put a 2-3 series ring gear spacer from Strange Engineering, and then put a used 4.11 gear set on it. Slapped it in, and OMG! Its waaaaaaaay faster, hooks on a launch, and drifts like a champ! Now I'm scared to drive it in the rain! It rained on the way back from the autocross on Sunday, and holy crap, I almost lost it a couple of times. It would break the tires at 40 no problem in the rain. I know its just a V6, but I seriously think I can run down some 305's. If I can, I'm going to make it up to Mission Raceway so I can get some numbers for it. I'm hoping for 15's at least. _________________ E30

if you break into the 15s you can probably run down some whipped 350s too.

Is that a stock type LSD or aftermarket? I'm gonna get one eventually. My buddy had great results with a Powertrax locker, so I may go that route instead of limited-slip. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Its a stock cone type. Very nice so far. The axle spider gears have cone shaped screws that screw into the case when the spin due to tire spin. I autocrossed all day Sunday with it and was very pleased. Turning was simple, no welded diff feeling at all. But as soon as I gassed it through a corner, watch out! It would lock up fast and send the back end out.

Yeah, I know with the Powertrax there is a bit of CLICKing around corners, but I think I can live with that! BTW, what are your cruising RPMs with those 4.11s?

I really have no idea how fast I'm going.... but if I keep up with traffic on the highway at 60mph, its about 3000-3200 without the overdrive. Not too bad. Its loud with the sidepipe, but I'll live with it to go fast. It buried the 120mph speedo really quick, but its way off. Hehe. I'll video it and post it so you can see. _________________ E30
