Um... it depends on the breathing setup. If the only breather you had was a PVC (no breather or anything on the other valve cover.) I think it might be possible... if you create positive crank pressure.

I've run into that a couple of times. Motor has to be in pretty crappy condition though as well.

I would expect that most the oil would enter the cylinders. I think the obvious problem is the most likely problem... you have a leaking seal that needs replacing.

I would think the breather filter would have to be in pretty crappy condition also. Even if the PCV isn't working, if the breather filter is letting air thru, you shouldn't create any possitive pressure.

Hmm.... wouldn't it seep past the rings and the dipstick before it built enough pressure to blow the pan gasket?

Edit: Just noticed QwkTrip's post. Embarassed

I used to have a supercharged Vette that produced 12 psi of boost. There was a vent line from the oil pan plumbed into the engine air intake but it didn't work all that well. When I stood on the throttle oil would spurt out of the dipstick tube and collect on the exhaust header. If I got caught at a stop light after a hard run smoke would pour out from under the hood. Sometimes people would figure my car broke down and try to take advantage of the moment to beat me. Well, they were wrong... and I'd wop 'em even harder. Very Happy
