so i just recently put on some hooker shorty headers and the y- pipe into three inch flowmaster "cat" back.(i say "cat" because their is no cat.) anyways. in the process i took out the air tubes, all the lines but i left the smog pump cause im waiting on my smog delete pulley.(monday) but now when i start out from a stopped position and give it little gas it starts to cut out and wants to die, until i give it more gas. iv checked all the fittings and they seem to be okay, except the throttle position sensor is kinda messed up, but it was like that befor this prob. any ideas what this problem could be. possilby the smog pump since its not connected to anything or maybe not enough back pressure? i dont know tho

Does it have idle problems too? What did you do to cap off the old AIR tubes?

no the idle is perfect. and i completely took out the tubes, it only has the pump beneath the AC. i left that cause the serpentine wouldnt work with out it unless delete pulley, so its just pushin air into engine compartment for now

You're probably close, Qwk. My money's on him pulling a vacuum line while getting the tubes out from behind the engine. Run a vac. test and post back. If you don't have the gauge, then check Harbor Freight. I think they have a cheapo one you can get.

after looking for simple things like vaccume lines, i would say TPS. if your TPS is messed up that is probably your problem. TPS issues are degenerative, they keep getting worse until you replace the sensor. replace that, if you still have an issue you can track it down knowing your TPS is in good shape. and if there is a further issue, hey, the TPS needed replacing anyway right?

What's wrong with the TPS? Is it just affecting the idle, or what?

Might be. Could also be the IAC or EGR. Is it a problem at part or full throttle?
