Just come in from playin with my Frankenvelle project. Been working on the stupid thing probably 14 years now. Started out as a 64 Malibu SS with a 283 and a glide. I've had to weld in parts of 2 or 3 other cars. The only real parts of SS now are the chassis and the roof. The rest of the body came from other sources.

Anyway, I just got it runnin again(ran fine 2 weeks ago, now if floods Confused ) Then put the snowflake mags on I was going to trade Barnes for seats. After all 4 tires that were on it cracked the sidewalls and went flat figured these would work well, even with snow tires. Hey the snowtires even helped get through the mud so I could get out of the barn!! Laughing Had to get it out so I could wash the dang bird crap off! Freakin barns. Evil or Very Mad Taking it easy now so I can go out later and fix the carb, then give it a little tuneup. Maybe I'll start working on it a bit again.

Anyway, heres a couple of pics..

It has a totally rebuilt 283, including the freakin carb!@! New everything right down to the fuel pump. Still has the original glide. Originally had A/c but it was such a pain it got the delete. PS, I added powerbrakes, added boxed LCA"s and rear sway bar off a 65 gto. Has a new floor, replaced roof, replacing partial quarters, replacing rocker panels. Had it off the frame and painted the frame, new body bushings. Used bedliner to spray both the inside and outside of the floor. Anyway, been a whole hell of alotta work. And I've actually done it at least twice now. Started fixing the original body with new quarters and such.. but was just learning and screwd it alll up. Then a buddy gave me another velle that had a half ass decent body, good trunk, decent quarters, needed a roof and floorpan. So cut all my new parts out of the original and started over again. Rolling Eyes

Thought some people might be interested.

Sweet B. Weird that it isn't running right now. When I was up there she was purring right along. I guess even old cars can get gremlins from sitting.

If you want grunt labor when you are sanding etc. let me know. I am interested in learning.

Think the confederate flag would be look more appropriate at this point. No orange paint though!

Looking good B.

So is it going to take another 14 years or are you going to buckel down and put some time in to it and finish it?

hmm.. Wonder what its dragstrip weight is at the moment.... the concrete block drivers seat might have to go though.. Very Happy

Went out tonight after work and took the carb apart yet again.. cleaned it out good. Sure runs sweet just sits there and purrs.. Not even a shake to the little ole 283.. Got a nice crack to the exhaust though! 20 year old glass paks are just right!

BTW, studded snow tires put out kind of a sparky power brake.. kinda chews into the barns concrete pretty good too! Very Happy

Nope.. no more backfire. That was just plugs & points.. too much sitting. The AC Crapidfires couldnt take it.

Now how am I supposed to take pics of the spark show and drive the car?

Not quite redneck enough yet to block the front tires and put a brick on the pedal!

No no, to hold the camera... Deb is too cool to run over.

Though we could put your wife in front of the jimmy, that'd be more fun. As long as we don't get stuck and have to dig ourselves out with the sun visors Shocked
