So the clock is counting down to when I paint the car. in about 2 weeks Very Happy
But now that I have determined My dad and I will paint the car together instead of taking it into a shop, I can make the job really as custom as I want and not pay through the nose.
First off, the car's base color will be black because I don't want to bother the hassel of color change
But here's an idea...What if instead of white stripes, I ghosted them in with metalic. kinda like ghost flames.
Has anyone heard of this or seen it done before? What do you think of that idea?
If not I will go with the black with white Very Happy

ghost them in with silver metalic.

Or what if I went black with white stripes, and then ghosted flames inside the white stripes with an irredecent white.Shocked Maybe a little too much :p

If they are done right, it could look good.

For example, Brent Jackson's Blue 69. This is HOTNESS!

That does look pretty sweet.........but that does take QUITE a bit of skill to perfect. I don't know how much painting skill/expertice that your or your dad have. If I were painting it, I'd go with the regular white racing stripes. It is of course, your car, so you're free to do what you guys want.

love to see it when its all done.

how many coats are you guys doing and are you doing clearcoat mixed or as a seperate stage?

Yeah that looks amazing! It does sound pretty hard to pull off so there is a very good chance it'll be black and white.
We are going to shoot the white, tape off the stripes, wet-sand, shoot black, and then clear over the whole car. about 3 layers each.

Go with this stuff, for the stripes! With black, chrome would be awsome with it.
