I'm in the same boat as you. I'd like to find a good set of silver RS emblems. As much as I would like the originals, I am considering reflective vinyl decals from AutoGrafics which can be used in place of or on top of the stockers. Reflective is the most expensive at $30 for the set of 3.

Just remember when you deal with autografics the type of person behind the counter, "Chuck":

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/aftermarket-vendor-review/359164-disappointed-autographics-com-3rd.html?highlight=autografics

And my Favorite:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/aftermarket-vendor-review/186074-autographics-com-i-think.html

The crewbies rallied behind me on this one and I think a boycott would be reasonable, but of course its your money and spend it as you wish.

Sure this may be a vendeta and for good reason.

There are alternatives.

Why would you want to advertise the fact that you have a V6?

to just put a "formula" decal on the side would be like anouncing that i have atleast a 305. that would be like a lie. i am not down with badging a car as more then it is. it's kinda "ricer". however if i ever get to the point where i paint the thing (a few years down the line, like a macco job or somthing) i would spruce it up with some decals. "formula v6" seemed to fit as the car holds to most of the formula ideals. it is based down and light. the only thing it lacks is a big engine. i would feel wrong just badging it as a formula, but "formula v6" is honest and neat looking. i would even do a "2.8 Liter FI" on the "power bulge" hood.

i have always loved the formula look. that is why i got an 86 bird in the firstplace. no GFX and it looked like a formula. i need a wraparound and a powerbulge cowl hood. Cool

EDIT*
why would you waste time modding a 305? OH FACED Very Happy ha, joking of course, as your 305 would slap the shite out of my 350

Because I have almost no money into it. The mods I have done, do not exactly cost a lot. (the ones that do, transfer over for a bigger motor).

Besides... I have a 327, that is going to go the crap boosted out of it. Wink

I love the look of formulas. Didn't the 4thgens come with formula v6 badging? You could just get that style. And if you think johns 305 is going to slap the crap out of you maybe our race won't be so eventful. Him and I put down similar power numbers, his having more torque. Smile

Even without the bottle, a bolt on L98 isn't going have its way with me.

(Tony, you were low 14's in the 1/4 ???)

Knowing John it'll be at least 10 years before he puts it in, even if he has everything ready to go to drop it in now. Wink

Since the orginal topic of this post is emblems....

If anyone in the crew spots a set of red Z/28 emblems either on ebay or on a Junkyard car, snag em, I'll buy em from you. I need the GFX ones and the one that goes on the dash. (picky about the dash one, one that just says "Z/28" some say "Z/28 Tune port injection" or "Z/28 5.0L H.O." I'm not sure if 82-84 GFX emblems were a different size from 85+ but I know the actual ground effects are slightly different.

hey chris, the emblem size never changed, but the monting hardware did. the early ones had 2 tabs that they conected with, while the later years were flat and were just glued into place. I have the red ones off mine, but they aren't in the best shape. If you want I can take a picture of them and post it up and see if yoiu are interested in buying them from me.

I'm looking for the grey and silver ones instead of the red. Red isn't in my color scheme Razz
