Need a Pre-81 (two if you have them!) Quadrajet, or other Spreadbore 4 barrel carburator. need one with an electric choke or can be bossed for a Electric choke. A side inlet filter is prefered, but I can do a little pipe bending for a center or offset filter inlet.

Realistically I only need one, for the 85 Z/28. I want to be able to drive that thing to Cows. So I do need at least one ASAP. I just spent some of my last coin on a new HEI distributor (the "summit" brand, basically a GM HEI), and that's supposed to be here on friday.

I'm ditching the Emission controls on Bobby's old Berlinetta, and will need one for the 350 in that thing.

Gotcha. Can't we just rebuild one now? What's wrong with what you got?

I have Three Quadrajets. Two are computer controled and are of no use to me. They won't run right without being plugged in and the bodies are a little different. One of the CC Q-jets I stripped all the useful parts out of. If I end up buying one from the parts store, it will be my "core". The non-CC Q-jet had a giant crack in the baseplate. It came off a 77 Caddy. I ended up throwing the baseplate away. It was a pretty nasty crack. I really just need a baseplate for the one I have, but I'd rather have a whole carb if I can get one. One that has the "L" shaped Chevy Throttle linkage and the fuel mixture adjustment screws on it. The Third Q-jet bobby allegedly rebuilt himself is on the 350 in his Berlinetta. I'd use that one but its also computer controled.

Fairlane's probably just got a holley on it. BTW the quad's i have don't have electric chokes. Thats the whole reason I didnt use them. Trucks stayed divorced choke till sometime in the 80s. Also most trucks were NOT CCC so mid 80s quads off a truck would work for a non emission setup. There are mixture screws on all of these carbs. Even the CCC versions. You just have to grind the plugs out of the baseplate. Not a big deal, though kinda ugly.

B,

Some vans were that way too. I've seen the Divorce Choke setup on GMC and Chevy Vans at late as 1987. Money looks like it might be a problem for me to come to cows. I'll probably still buy that Q-jet from you. $60 ok? If I can't make it, I'll have Tony pick it up. Do you want the good CC-Q-jet on the Berlinetta as some sort of "core" or "exchange"?

Paul,

I'm completely open to ANY spreadbore carb. I'd prefer a Q-jet, because that will be a direct bolt in without having to reshape the fuel line. If it has a vaccum accuated choke, that'll be ok too.
