Okay got the car a couple of weeks ago. Been nothing but problems. Getting in to running shape.

Sorry this is so long

Okay
Replaced
Wires
cap
rotor
ignition module.
Used distrubutor
Car ran good.
fuel filter
Check fuel pressure
Oil
Trans fluid
Rear end fluid

From my wrecked v6 1989 2.8 MAF. USed Parts America to be sure stuff was compatable.
Installed collant temp sensor from my v6
ANd new thermostate.
Car warmed up. Did not seem to before. All these were good from my 1989 engine ran like a champ.

After doing this got a code 13 for o2 Sensor. Went to the store and got a new O2 code still was there. So check the wire. It was cut

So reattached the wire found the other end coming from the computer. It was by the blower. So reattached it.

Got code 45.

Then car started running like crud. Will idle but when you give it gas it will cut out and almost die.

I even unhooked the O2 sensor. Reset the ECM and car still runs like crud.

I checked the TPS voltage and it gets 5 volts. Seems high but no way to adjust.

This car has been obvously had some shade tree mechanic done to it.

No code right now. But can even get it to run above idle

surges all over the place

Swaped a used ECM still runs like crap

have you checked your fuel pressure with the ignition "on" and the car off? or did you check it while the car was running? if you have not, check it with the engine running, hit the gas and see what it does. if it falls and the engine dies theres your issue..

when you say you checked the TPS did you check it at WOT or through it's entire range of motion. id you check it through it's entire range it should start at .5V and rise smoothly until it hits atleast 4.5V. do this a few times to make sure there are no flatspots where the voltage drops off.

--------------------------------------------------------------
CODE 45 is the "rich exhaust" code.
to diagnose ground the "diagnostic terminal" to enter "field service mode". let the engine run @1200-1800 RPM for one minute and watch the service engine soon light. if it is off more then on that indicates "closed loop" and it means you have an intermittent code...

if the light is on more then off then you are staying in open loop. disconect o2 sensor and ground the o2 signal wire to body. start car and watch SES light. if it is on steady you have a faulty ECM. if it was off for atleast 30 seconds before coming on then you are running rich.

hope this helps. Smile hope it's the ECM... then it's an easy fix Smile

Check it with wide open still reads 40-42 PSI

Also checked TPS and replaced it. Stilll does not work.
