So It looks like my driveline is 1" too long.
So I need a stocker to cut and shorten.
Really just hoping someone has one laying around I could snag.
Going to cost me around $160 to have it done once I get it.
Oi Vey. |

I have one that you could have, but shipping it up there prolly cost more than getting one at a bone yard.
Was your old driveline aluminum? Selling it? |

Yeah it's aluminum. With 2000mile old u-Joints/Balance.
Will be selling it.
I'm going to finish the crossmember and bolt the torque arm back on and swing the rear down to make sure that it is, indeed, too long.
As it stands now, I can't even get the ujoints into the pinion yolk with the slipyolk bottomed out. |

Dude. I have a shortened driveline already. I'll trade you for your stocker. It's aluminum though. I think it's 1.5" shorter. Need any measurements? |

Why would you have a short one, and need a long one?
And didn't it break? |

Not sure. If I wasn't so damn poor from this swap I'd make ya a real good deal. Otherwise I need to get a steel one and figure out just what it's going to cost me to get it hacked and new joints put in then balanced.
Need to finish up the crossmember tomorrow and mount the torque arm to double check before I measure.
Moving the LCAs would move the wheels in the well, and throw the panhard out of alignment. Thought about that when you mentioned it. Right before my harddrive crashed.
Always something. |

Long story. But I have a brand new aluminum one sitting in a box that I believe is 1.5" shorter than a stock 3rdgen-4thgen. It's got brand new u-joints and good looking welds. If you want it I'll trade you. I don't "need" either of them but I would be able to use the stock length one more easily than I'd be able to use the shorter one. I can show you some pictures if you like.
If it's the right length then it'd be perfect to just drop right in there.
EDIT: The old one broke, yes. They told me that it was due to a bad tech that they fired right after I bought that DS. The new one they gave me looks a million times better than the old one. But that's probably because they made it completely from scratch. |
