Anyone here even really look at, or heard of UMI?
After reading a lot of the LS1 boards, and looking over the site, it seems UMI has been getting a better standing as far as the 4thgen is concerned...
3 point SFC's http://www.umiperformance.com/2003.aspx
cost just as much as Spohn's regular SFC's and look to be, from what I've read, a better weld as well.
The Torque Arm, aside from being $60 less than the Spohn, has also gotten great reviews... http://www.umiperformance.com/2202.aspx
Reading how people have broken the spohn unit, even with just a bit of daily driving in some cases...
Now I know Spohn has been a staple in the 3rdgen Community and is well known in the 4th... but those suspension guru's here... what are your thoughts on the UMI pieces?
Just cheerios _________________

i like the umi set up better, but i have never bought anything from Spohn but just from reading on thirdgen.org i dont think i ever will, i have read alot about problems with the tq arms, sfcs and the guys that have paid for the k frame, just sounds like a badly run company to me, having guys pay for a item then maken them wait 4 extra months and they still havent got the item. ill think ill pass on Spohn items. but thats just my 2cents

| UMI seems to be gaining with the 4th gen crowd. I know the owner of UMI posts regularly on FRRAX, and is very willing to listen to what those guys have to say. I think most of UMI's stuff, is sort of spohn knock-off stuff. I would be interested to know if their stuff weights the same redickulous amounts, as spohn. |

the SFC's obviously, atleast the 3 point, weigh more.
I'm interested to see how their K-Member turns out vs. Spohn and others... seems that these guys have their shizzle together though
looking at their A-Arms and still undecided though
I'm sure they're actually meant to be somewhat knockoffs of Spohn, but probably improved a bit as well.... as can be seen with the SFC's _________________

Yeah, I have heard from some 4thgen guys, that the build quality is better than Spohn also. You can always read on FRRAX about some of their stuff.
If you are looking for 4thgen A-Arms, I would look at LG motorsports, they make AWSOME stuff for f-cars, them and Unbalanced Engineering. |

yarr... new sig!!
got links to LG or Unbalanced?
my first few things are SFC's and exhaust, then going slowly for the rest of the suspension ... some of it depends on whether or not I'm running long tubes or not (which I will be) _________________

I like Unbalanced... that de-coupled torque arm looks interesting, know anyone with experience with it? _________________
