Not really much info here. I decided to get off my ass and install the MAC SFC's I've had laying around for 2 years and man was that a pain. I suck at welding upside down. My jack's couldn't get the car high enough.
and then the xmember wouldn't bolt back on. So now I'm waiting for a couple buddies to pick up from griding wheels so I can "clearance" the xmember some.

I know exactly what you mean! I just finished restoring a Triuumph that literally came back from the dead, and NOTHING went "smooth" on that car. NOTHING!  I thought about saying something about that but I didn't want to jinx you  |

| You took the x-member off to weld in SFC? What kind of connectors are these? |

We did ok on mine. Only broke a couple of bolts, but no really major snags. |

MAC. Similar to the alston's. They weld to the subframe right where the xmember bolts to so I took it off for more room to move and then realized I needed to notch it some to slide it back in. I got in on a GP on tg.o a couple years ago and I think I payed ~$100?
And holy shizzle. The car feels a million times more solid! I can't believe I waited this long to put them on! I even enjoy driving with the top up now!
Al, that's because I really didn't help put it back together, just tear it apart.  |
