After 500 miles, everything apparently going as planned.Smile Changed the oil today as per the engine builder's recommendations. In about 400-500 more miles it will be time to check the torque on the heads, at that time I need to replace the o-ring on the distributor since I pinched this one when I installed the new distributor. A minor oil leak now which can be major in a short time (been there, done that).
The ECM has been throwing codes for the EGR this last week. I replaced the connector since three of the four wires on it were bare, that wasn't the problem. I replaced the EGR to the tune of $250 Shocked and so far have had no problems.
I also found an exhaust manifold bolt that I failed to tighten up, I'll get after that tomorrow. _________________ 92 Camaro

That's what I thought the first time I had to replace that thing shortly after I bought the car. It's the electronic EGR controlled by the ECM. It opens and closes by solenoids instead of using a vacuum diaphram. |

| Took a ride to Port Townsend today (my sister and brother-in-law celebrated their anniversary today). Everything went OK, engine runs well at highway speeds, but the tach was all over the place even on mild acceleration. I replaced the coil and plug wires when I got home, looks like I fixed that problem. About another week of normal driving should get me to the point where I need to check the torque on the heads. |
