ok so i was sitting at a stop light and a early 90s cougar wiht a v8 badge on it wanted to race i didnt floor it on take off untill i was doing abotu 15mph and i still litl up the rears then stayed on it till he was safely behind i pulled pretty hard on him hoow fast are those? or r they ehlla slow and i shouldnt be proud of myself lol

Don't get too happy. V8 T-Birds/ Cougars are nothing without a lot of work. Lower output than a 'Stang, and an atrocious curb weight.

oh well i stayed door to door wiht my friends 93 trans am starting at 30mph but he claims it wouldnt shift down

It was either very broken, or a V6 if you beat it from a roll with that TPI 305.

door to door not beat and it was a lt1 also i dont know what my engine is ive never checked the numbers but its not original

wel the bock has been painted out of the car so its a repacement i have no idea if its a 305

Are the casting numbers hard to get to? My TPI has a damn wiring harness over top of them, not to mention the plug wires and wiper motor. Rolling Eyes

I pulled my engine out once and painted it. And put it back in after doing transmission things. Before I knew what I was doing : OP

You should try checking the casting numbers. You might have gotten lucky and unknowingly picked up an old GM crate engine or something.
