So I bought a 91 Explorer Eddie Bauer edition on saturday. It's burgundy and tan with tan interior. fully load, 4x4 of course 179K miles on it with a rebuilt tranny all for 2400 bucks! It's a great vehicle runs like a charm too. No problems with it at all and it looks very nice. I'll get some pictures of it tonight. I also bought a new stereo for it. a Pioner DEH-p6500 I love it. it's an awesome stereo got it for 207 at sears. it's 280 bucks every where else. Anyway whaddya think?

Brave you are, buying a Ford with close to 200,000 miles on it. At least it was cheap. But then again it is 13 years old. Eeks... a ford and the number 13, together.

Good luck to you sir.

But non the less. SUV's are nice.

And how is your trusty GM product running? Rolling Eyes

Give him a hard time if you like, but as some of us get older we
realise that a Camaro/Firebird is not a very good daily driver.
If your looking into 4 wheel drive then you will see that GM went to hell in the late 80's, and IMHO Ford has been well ahead of GM all through out the 90's. Just remember when you go spouting of your little yapper that not every body here is a die hard Chevy fan.

Ok, I'm done ranting. Very Happy

Congrats on the new to you ride though Johnny.

Well, This suv runs way better than my iroc with a new engine and about 25 thousand less miles on it, It's better for my family, a ton of room, 4 wheel drive for snowboarding and it gets 20mpg highway with a 19 gallon tank. I can't complain. The thing is plush, got every option that was available. I love it. ALso installed a DEH P6500 Pioneer Head Unit that makes those factory speakers sound crystal clear, apparantly the explorer has an amp in it too caus eI had to hook up the remote wire in order to get it to come on.

And one more thing for you midnight sun, There is a reason the ford explorer is the best selling suv in the world. Think about this, in 1991 when the explorer first came out it was third in sales, the first year. beating chevrolet. I have 2 kids and a wife and a dog, the IROC just isn't it anymore, I'm just not where I was 4 years ago when I first got A camaro, they are just too expensive. And they always break. I love my Explorer and Its running strong with no problems so far. So... That's what I Gotta say, and Joe, I"m not a soccer mom, soccer DAD biatch For Shizzle! Wink

Thats all fine and dandy and your opinions are fair, but it seems to me you're posting this in the wrong forum (heck, the wrong web site altogether).

Yes.. Jimmy's too. Wink

I figured someone wouldnt get my little prod at John, but yeah, I've known John for a long time.. probably the longest of anyone on these boards. So I'm sure he knows I am happy for him.

And, for those curious... Rodney has a quite bad ass Z28, and also just happens to have a very bad ass Boosted Ford.

I agree pretty much on the 4x4/Chevy/Ford comment too.. in my opinion 1991 (end of the fully size blazer and solid front axles) was the beggining of the end.

But, that is my opinion, so I could be wrong.

Anyways.. if you guys can keep this civil [lumburg]that would be greeeeeeeat.[/lumburg]

BAHH HUMBUG.

EVERYONE knows that the only reason the Ford Explorer sold so well was because it was in Jurassic Park! Very Happy

Anyways, I may hate Ford. But I'll tell ya. If I were forced to by a new car/truck tomorrow. You can bet your ass it would be a Toyota.

I might as well admit it though. If I had to choose American and buy brand new Chevy , or a brand new Ford. I would probably buy a Dodge.
