Hello all, I'm new to this board and the V8 lifestyle!

My name is John I live in South Salem, and I just bought a 83 T\A from a guy up in Aloha. Needs alot of little things but I've already bought a 350 to drop into it. It's gonna be a mean street car but mainly used at the strip. I've been in the car scene for about 5 years now. I've built a full out show car and won many awards but figured it was time to go for speed rather then style.

Some of you may have already meet my older brother Chris. He had a 91 T\A convertable green with tan top and ran at PIR once in a while.

Anyways just figured I'd introduce myself!

Welcome Newbie!

Feel free to post up some pics of your ride and the rest of the plan. Are you going to be bracket racing or what? What E.T. are you targeting?

No pics yet, computer isn't picking up the USB for some reason so can't upload. But it's black on gold. The 350 came out of a purple 81 Malibu that a guy named Spencer owned. I guess it's supposed to be stroked to a 383 but not sure. Seems to have a pretty new crank in it, pretty gnarly came, I think performer intake, and vortec heads. Spencer was running 13.80s the night I met him.
I plan on staying with the carb, just not in the budget to swap to injection. I think I'm gonna shoot for mid 12s right now and once it's together and running for awhile I'll save and break into the 11s. I have plans to start bracket racing near the end of this upcoming season.

As of right now I've already pulled the AC and heating systems out of the car and covered the holes in the firewall with sheet metal. Fab'd two gauge pods stripped all the rear interior, and peiced back alot of missing peices. I just ordered a B&M megashifter (be here on the 8th) I'll of course switch to an electric fan, and only plan to run the crank, power steering, and AC off the belt. Weld in sub frame connectors, V6 springs in the front, box in rear control arms, switch to manuel door locks and windows (anyone want to trade doors?) cross drilled rotors, SS brake lines, and semi metallic brake pads.

Any suggestions?

Your T/A sounds pretty cool, when do you think it'll be up and killing mustangs?

I'd say 2-3 months depends on which route I take on my exhaust and a couple other things. Not sure the gearing, it is a 10 bolt posi and has the four disc brakes, you guys would probably know better then me on that one.
