-Non-A/C heater box with wiring, blower/cage, ect.

-Battery tie-down

-Any decent stereo head

All for an '87 L98 IROC. I'd preffer local pickup around Pierce County WA. I'm willing to pay appropriatly.

Just FYI; pull-a-part off of steele st/512 area has a few early thirdgens with wiper motors.

Do all wiper motors interchange? I'm pretty sure the one on my Dad's truck is not the same, but I'm going to check that tomorrow, because I know he has an extra one laying around.

No they dont, matter of fact, there were several different wiper motors used throughout the 3rd gen years.

the main thing you ahve to worry about is 82-89 or 90-92 (i am pretty sure he years i listed are correct) at some point (1990?) the pump for the washer fluid ceased to be in the wiper motor assembly, and switched over to being on the bottle itself. (much better) this change carried on into fourth gens. this is not that big of a deal, you can swith between the two.. you will just need to re-run your washer fluid lines and run some new wires. for example in my 86 i have a 4th gen bottle. just cut the wires so the original pump would no longer run and ran them to the in tank pump.

and of course if the motor is for DELAY.this is the big one. if you put a delay motor on a non delay car you will ONLY have "LOW" speed (fast will not work). i don't know what happens if you put a non-delay motor in a delay car.. you atleast won'y have delay.

Well, I have delay, and the pump is on the firewall. I don't exactly feel like chopping it up to run and in-tank pump, I'd just like to get it working. But I'll keep an eye out for that.

There is really no chopping involved to switch to the new style tank and pump. I had this setup and switched over to the pump in tank of a 92 I think it was. No cutting of wires to do this is necessary, but you do have to add one wire.

On the bottom of the wiper motor you can see where the pump goes in. It's held in with a clip as I recall. Pop the clip and remove the pump. Look where you pulled the pump out and there are 2 male spade connectors in the bottom of the hole. One is ground, and one is hot. Take a test light and find the hot lead, and then just use a female spade conenctor on a length of wire and connect it to the hot lead, and run the lead to the new pump. You will have to find a place to hook the ground lead on the new style pump to a suitable body ground. But other than that it's takes maybe 10 minutes to change over to the new style tank and pump. Everything works just like before through your wiper controls, except now your pump will work and not just dribble the fluid out. I've had this setup on my car for about 5 years now. Works great.

i wish i know that.. i cut the hot wire at the harness, left the old pump (with a broken feed tube) in there and swithced to the 92 bottle (did the 4th gen 1 yr later) hell, the pump is still there... Rolling Eyes

Hmm... the only b*tch I can see is getting a testor up in there while it's mounted, as the upper intake tends to get in the way quite a bit. I'll give it a shot later today though.

I removed my motor to find the correct terminal. Wasn't that difficult to do.

Removed the pump motor this morning, hooked it up to some wires and ran it from the battery. Ran good for about a second, then started to grind and buzz, and proceeded to die.

Tomorrow I'm probably going to swing by pull-a-part and see if I can't just buy the pump motor without buying and removing the entire damn unit.

Screw Pull-a-Part... B&B had a brand new one for 20 bucks. I see what everyone is saying about the pussy-assed pump, though. So I'm probably going to keep my eyes open for anyone around here parting a 90's third-gen.
