when i start my car it takes a bit for it to get warm. but after i drive it for a bit, if i stop at a light the air gets cooler. when i start driving again it blows warm again. could this be the thermostat? im gonna flush the system but i figure if i have it drained i should change it out if its the prob.

Ya, if your thermostat is stuck open or opens too soon it will act like that. That'll also cause you to burn more fuel too.

How weird, I have the exact opposite happen! At a stop light, I get heat, on the freeway I get nothing!

Let us know what happens with the thermostat. I wouldnt go too much by what the temp gauge says either. Mine never goes over 160 even when I know the fan doesnt kick in till 200*.
