ok, just so everyone knows I WAS JOKING!!!!!

BACKROUND: my last name is Gambino, like the famous mafia crime family (if you have not heard of the gambino crime family... well, shame on you.) and the media (sopranos, goodfellas, godfather) portray the italian-american mafia guys as wife beaters (probably true) but i extend that stereotype and make light of it by making jokes like that. i guess it's funier when you hear it. one of my italian buddies (last name changed two generations ago for whitness protection Shocked

) and i make jokes about it all the time, we are both huge sopranos fans.

THE DEAL: i would never ever actualy hit a woman.... ever. and yeah if i ever witnessed a man beating his wife/girlfriend he would have two bruses to her one care of the Tony! but i think it's funny to joke about italian people being "exempt" to such a rule.

Perfect example of an internet miscommunication. Kind of an inside joke that we weren't in on and your post came out really bad. We were all hoping it was a joke of some kind though.

this one time my uncle gary (picture the most greasy haired, dark kinned fresh-off-the-boat looking italian guy you have ever seen, thats my uncle gary) and his wife went watersking (major water sports people) and my aunt got nailed in the face with her own ski on a fall, anyway, she is running around for the next three weeks with one heck of a black eye. EVERYONE is giving my uncle these looks while we go places. cops and general authority figures repededly ask my aunt if she is "allright" or "needs to talk". in the meantime my uncle is making things worse, everytime she explains "i got hit by a ski..." my uncle interupst with some line like "yeah, while I was swinging it!"

we all thought it was hilarious, the park ranger types did not....
