Well, have been thinking about buying the stuff to burn our own chips.
Doesn't seem to be that bad in price.????????
There are many different systems out there.
We have a 1987 z28 with auto. has the 305 chip in it, put a built 350 in.
What would be the best way to go to burn our own?
does it matter what computer we have in the car when looking at chip burning equipment?
I have been reading and searching thirdgen.org.
Anybody here have any recommendations???
thanks

| You can't just have someone burn you a chip. It either needs to be done on a dyno, or driving around watching what's going on and when. Then you also need an adapter to put a burned chip in. I don't think anyone around here does it old school by erasing your old one and burning to it. |

Moates.net sells the Burn1 burner, it is cheaper than the Xtronics version, and will do the job just as well.
Once you have all the equipment, you are more than welcome to get us to help.
You can also catch me on AIM or MSN in the evening, it would be easier to explain this all in a conversation in that form, vs. posting on a message board. |
