Left for Triple XXX in Isaquah at 7 this morning....225 cars were there. John wasn't able to make it...need to talk to him to find out why....pics will be available once they are posted by Ray, the prez of Camaro Cruzers.

i was standing by the trophies with my Cruzer buds...I actually took 1st for 4th gen non-stock coupe (V6 class). Glad you liked the cars though. Perhaps me you and john can hook up some time to remove the rests of my emissions. do you know what caps/plugs are needed need the motor, plus, is it ok to remove teh vapor canister? Eventually, i just want the engine, brakes and power steering under the hood...you know, really clean and accessible. _________________

Congrats on the win!
For my stock manifolds I just took the air tubes, cut the tube off and welded over the back side of the flare fitting. But I had heard that it was just 1/4 npt. Which would make plugging the manifolds easy. I still have the canister but I'd like to get rid of it some time. You'd probably throw a code from the purge 'noid not being plugged in but I'm not sure. Aside fromt he canister, all the other emission stuff is gone on mine because of the Stealth Ram. It'd definately be cool to work on our cars together. (definatly a photo momment have all those thirdgens in the driveway). I've got a crapload of tools if you guys want to come over the bridge some time to wrench. |

I went ahead and tried to wax the 85's hood today...didn't turn out very good, but at least I gave it a shot. It's as ready as it will ever be for the show tomorrow. Hope to see John (RS Freak) at the meeting place in the morning.

Monday Edition cuz I had the chance....
installed hatch struts, a new passenger induction hose, and capped off another emmission part. Also fixed a minor fuel leak that was dripping on the intake manifold.

On today's edition, John (RSFreak) and I removed the smog pump on the 89 RS and put a new, shorter serpentine belt on. The Dayco 5060825 27/32" x 82.5" 6 Rib seemed to do the trick. Would have liked a little more tension, but it's cool.

After a couple of days going to the junk yard, John (RS Freak) and I did an electric fan conversion for my 85. I dismantled the clutch fan and installed the electric fan (from a 92 RS) and John did the electrical work. Have yet to test drive to see the difference but looking forward to it.

I gave you a call the other day but you weren't there. I told whoever answered the phone to give ya a message that I called.
I take it you got the connector worked out okay? I didn't have any extras, I accidentally cut up the one I had in the TPI swap into my buddies jeep. |

Got the message but no phone number...it's working great. Not as much extra room as I thought it would be, but it looks so much nicer now without that hump in the front. I'm going to drive around today to see if I notice an improvement.

Hey, I'm finally chiming in! Yeah, your '85 engine bay looks much nicer with the electric fan in there. Now we gotta find a time to put my 'IROC' tail lights on. Next Thursday? _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6
